Plan your learning goals

Using the process of Backward Design, introduced by Wiggins and McTighe, you can use a backwards approach to learning development. Firstly, identify your learning goals .This will help frame your final product - what will effective learning look like? Second, once you've identified how learning will look, you can create your assessments. After you have created your assessment portfolio, you can finally start creating your instructional materials and learning engagements. This is your learning content and how it will be presented.

Create your content

This is where instructional designers like me, come in. I can help you identify your learning goals, align this with your product, develop your "evidence" or your assessment, then work with you to create learning engagements, instructional materials and knowledge check activities. I will use a multimodal approach to instructional design, drawing from written information, utilise graphics and video to incorporate a variety of multimedia.
